Arun valley Trekking

Arun valley TrekkingThe Arun valley provides really superb views of both Mt. Everest and Mount Makalu. It is located between the Sagarmatha and Makal-Barun National Parks. Trekking in this valley provides an alternative approach to the Khumbu region. We recommend this approach to those people who have already been in the Everest region and want to revisit Everest Base Camp (Kalapattar) via a less traveled route. The valley lies in Makalu-Barun National Park area. This trek begins at Lukla and ends at Tumlingtar. There are two passes in the valley, the Salpa Pass (3350m) and the Surkie~La Pass (3085m). We pass by along the holy lake Salpa Pokhari, beautiful waterfalls and many Sherpa villages. This area is renowned for its Tungba - a Sherpa alcoholic drink. Spectacular views of Mera Peak, Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and many others in the Khumbu region spread before youThe trek requires stamina and fitness to fully appreciate the beauty of the region. which provides some outstanding mountain views.
