Manaslu Trekking

Manaslu TrekkingThe trekking route around Manaslu Himal is such a fascinating trip with great Himalayan view and a bit challenge at the same time. This route is not crowded with individual trekkers at all. Exploring the highland villages of Nepal thrills a trekker to cross over a pass (Larkya La) which is the tough part of this trekOpened in 1992, A trek to the base of Mt. Manaslu offers a combination of rich cultural heritage, unsurpassed beauty and a great diversity of flora/fauna. Beginning our trek at Gorkha, home of the celebrated Gorkha soldiers, we visit the ancient palace of King Prithivi Narayan Shah before commencing our trek....soon all traces of modern civilisation fade as we travel through villages where the harmonious agricultural life has remained unchanged for hundreds of years. This is a demanding, and an outstanding trek in eastern Nepal. The trek up to Makalu base camp visits one of the most remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal. The long trek and unspoiled terrain makes this trek a classic in its own. This trek goes high up to 5,100m. This is a region where you hardly find any modern facilities and amenities but blessed with an incredible diversity of natural beauty.

This region is  Due to its isolation and lack of tea houses this area still receives few trekkers. Sherpa, Rai and Limbus are main habitants in this area. Walking north up the Arun river to Sedua and Num, you get to the upper Barun Khola valley for a close look at Makalu (8,463m). You can put together even wilder trek by crossing Sherpani Col and west Col into the upper Hongu valley. The trek begins to get more serious, with the start of the ascent of the Gandaki River Valley, fed by innumerable rivers and waterfalls, where trekkers often enjoy a swim in refreshing river pools. In Samagoan (3450 m.), we visit the glacial green lake of Birendra, before crossing into mystic Sado, just 15 km. from the Tibetan border. Here Tibetan monks inhabit sacred monasteries. More monasteries await in Larkya Bazzar, along with this trek's biggest challenge-- crossing the Larkya la 5135m between snow covered peaks which reach over 6500 m.
